Bernd Sparenberg, born 1966, started his professional career in MAKROLON® PC Marketing at Bayer AG before joining Hoechst AG in 1995. He worked for several years in the Business Line VECTRA® LCP, starting as an Application Development Engineer. Later in 1998 he became Business Line Manager VECTRA® LCP heading the European business. As of 2002 Bernd Sparenberg was promoted Global Marketing & Sales Manager TOPAS® COC, responsible for all Packaging and Film activities worldwide. When Daicel Chemical Industries Ltd. took over the TOPAS® COC business in 2006, Bernd Sparenberg moved to the US and became the new President of TOPAS Advanced Polymers, Inc. organizing the “spin-off” process from Ticona LLC and taking business responsibility for the NAFTA-region. Returning to Germany in 2008 he assumed the position General Manager Business Development and was steering several global, high profile development projects. Early 2009 Bernd Sparenberg joined Krahn Chemie, a chemical distribution company and subsidiary of Otto Krahn Group located in Hamburg, heading the Performance Products division, which includes rubber, plastics, adhesive/ sealant and lubricant activities. In February 2012 he moved to Albis Plastic, another subsidiary of Otto Krahn Group, and became Vice President Technical Compounds responsible for the global business with ALBIS-brands, such as ALCOM®, ALTECH®, ALTECH® NXT PP, ALTECH® ECO, ALFATER® TPV, TEDUR® PPS, SHELFPLUS® O2 and several complementary distribution products.
Bernd Sparenberg received a degree in Business Administration at Bayer Company College, Leverkusen, and a Diploma in Polymer Engineering from University of Applied Science, Darmstadt.
